DiMatteo Insurance Service Center surpasses goal, raises $13,500 in first Annual Charity Golf Tournament

SHELTON, CONN. - The DiMatteo Family Charitable Foundation, a not-for-profit organization registered in Connecticut and established by the DiMatteo Insurance Service Center, celebrated the success of its first Annual Charity Golf Tournament by surpassing its goal of $10,000 and raising $13,500 for charity organizations. The event, held at Woodbridge Country Club, Woodbridge, Conn., hosted 130 golfers and nearly 160 people enjoyed the cocktail reception, dinner and a sports memorabilia silent auction that followed the event.

The funds raised by the event have been distributed among three charities: St. Vincent's Swim Across the Sound; Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation; and Kennedy Krieger Institute's ALD (Adrenoleukodystrophy) Treatment & Research Program. This year's organizations where chosen because they combat illnesses that affect DiMatteo Insurance Service Center's family members, friends and customers.

"Despite the chilly and windy weather, it was a great day for the DiMatteo Family Charitable Foundation's 1st Annual Golf Tournament, with the ultimate winners being St. Vincent's Swim Across the Sound; Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation; and Kennedy Krieger Institute's ALD Treatment & Research Program," said John V. DiMatteo, CFP, CCPS, president, DiMatteo Insurance Service Center. "We would like to thank all who contributed and participated in making our first event such a success."

Plans are underway for The DiMatteo Family Charitable Foundation's Second Annual Golf Tournament, to be held Monday, May 21, 2007, at the Woodbridge Country Club.
