DiMatteo elected president of PIACT

HARTFORD, Conn. - John V. DiMatteo, CFP, CCPS, of Bethany was elected president of Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc. today during the association's annual convention at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.

DiMatteo is president of A.A. DiMatteo Insurance Service Center, which has offices in Shelton, Orange and Bethany, Conn.

Since joining PIACT, DiMatteo has been active in the association serving as president-elect from 2005-2006 and vice president from 2003-2005. He was treasurer of the association in 2002-2003 and secretary in 2001-2002. DiMatteo also is a director of PIA Management Services Inc., representing PIACT. He serves as vice president of PIACT's Administrative/Nominations Committee, and is a member of the Executive/Budget and Finance and Association Programs Committees.

In his community, DiMatteo is a member of the Connecticut Racquetball Association, the Bethany Athletic Association and the Naugatuck Exchange Club. He is an active member of the Home Builders Association of Connecticut. DiMatteo also is a member of the New Haven/Valley Chamber of Commerce.

PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout the state.
