DiMatteo Insurance Service Center surpasses goal, raises $24,000 in second Annual Charity Golf Tournament

SHELTON, CONN. — The DiMatteo Family Charitable Foundation, a not-for-profit organization registered in Connecticut and established by the DiMatteo Insurance Service Center, surpassed its goal of $20,000 in its second Annual Charity Golf Tournament by raising $24,000 for charity organizations. In the past two years, the foundation has raised nearly $40,000 in donations.

The event — held May 21, 2007, at Woodbridge Country Club, Woodbridge, Conn. — hosted 135 golfers, and nearly 150 people enjoyed the cocktail reception, dinner and a sports memorabilia silent auction coordinated by Mike Riccio Sports, that followed the tournament.

Gold sponsors included DiMatteo Insurance Service Center, Aegis Information Systems, HRinterax Inc., Machine Builders of New England and ProActive Technologies.

The funds raised by the event were distributed among three charities: St. Vincent's Swim Across the Sound; the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; and the National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation. The foundation also donated $1,000 to Naugatuck Exchange Club. This year's organizations where chosen because they combat illnesses that affect DiMatteo Insurance Service Center's family members, friends and customers.
